Training in Pastoral Care

Pastoral care training for teams in churches and organisations.

 

WHAT I DO

Courses laying foundations for pastoral care and seminars on specific issues.

I have taught pastoral care in Bible Colleges, for ministry trainees, and to help develop leaders in various churches in various countries.

​​​

MY APPROACH

I am committed to training that iis biblically based, practically applied and interactive.

​

When training in pastoral care I make use of case studies.

​

COURSE

6 two-hour sessions:

  • Gospel-Shaped Pastoral Care Foundations Course

SEMINARS

The following are examples of subjects I can speak on among many others:​

  • Becoming a caring community

  • Boundaries and limits in pastoral care

  • Listening for the soul

  • Pastoral guidance

  • Pastoral prayer

  • Pastoral provision.

  • Structures for pastoral care in churches

  • Understanding needs and health in gospel perspective

  • Use of Scripture in Pastoral Care

THE COST

I do not charge a fixed amount for providing training, but donations to my personal support are welcome from churches and organisations.

​

Churches typically donate around £100 to £150 per hour of training in addition to covering travel expenses.

Advice on Pastoral Care

Advice for church leaders on structuring pastoral care provision or on specific pastoral issue

 

WHAT I OFFER

Whatever your questions about how best to provide pastoral care - whether in general or in a specific need - I can help you think the issues through and find a way forward. I am also happy to read over and comment on your documents.

MY APPROACH

I will always aim to help you find a way that is biblically faithful and that embodies grace and truth for the person or people you are seeking to help.

 

Any discussions I have with you are governed by my Personal Code of Conduct in ministry

THE COST

I do not charge a fixed amount for giving advice, but donations to my personal support are welcome from churches and organisations.

 

An hour of time from an adviser would normally cost between £50 and £150​.
